drawn by VR - real motion in unreal reality is an interactive movement installation that deals with the influence of human movement and body experience through virtual reality. Individual visitors can enter such a virtual reality. There their arm movements are recorded by motion capture and visualized live as three-dimensional, drawn traces of movement.

Visual reality, body awareness and human movement usually match. This means that neural connections are designed in such a way that humans can connect their visual perception, proprioception and movements with each other. Virtual reality puts this to the test. New neural connections have to be formed. What is seen is no longer also the one that is physically real perceived. The human perception changes, the embodied physical experience is tricked.
The interactive movement installation examines this influence on human movement and perception through virtual reality. The question is: VR vs. Real Life - What do I and the body of mine do in VR?
For this purpose, the installation can be entered by individual viewers. With the help of VR glasses, they dive into a VR and unknowingly generate three-dimensional traces of their movements via a live tracker into a projection as they move in the VR. Meanwhile, the other spectators don't see the VR in which the interactor moves, but only the real movements and their recordings in the background. After an interactor has taken off the VR glasses, he can look at the traces he has created. He also describes what he himself saw in the VR. The visually experienced perception is brought back together with the physically real movement perception.
